We Believe that God invites all of us to join in the Holy Work of Healing the World – an invitation made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ who promised God’s presence with us always as we seek to share God’s love with our world.
We acknowledge everything we have - our bread and breath, our time, treasure and talents - are gifts from God.
Our Wesleyan heritage encourages us to share our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness with our congregation and our communities in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. This five-fold approach seeks to flesh out the two greatest commandments, which are “to love God with all of our heart, soul (also interpreted as soul and mind), and strength (also interpreted as resources), and to love our neighbors (also interpreted as friend, stranger, and enemy) as ourselves.
At New Hope, you can give of your Time, Treasure, and Talents
Do you have 15-minute pockets available during your day? Two options: One - pray for the mission and ministry of New Hope and anyone in our community that comes to mind: ask for God's encouragement and blessing as we seek to serve as purveyors of hope and peace. Two - You could write and send a greeting card or two to people in our community (the church can give you names as well as postage).
Do you have an hour during the week you could visit with someone?
Do you have 2 hours on Wednesday afternoons (3.30-5.30PM) to serve at the Friendship Center Food Pantry?
Do you have 2 Hours on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday evening to hang out with Youth at ROOTS Teen Center?
Do you have an hour to mow the lawn at 550 W. Main or 192 State St.?
contact the church office by phone or email to learn more and to sign-up
Our mission and ministry is made possible as people share of their resources to help with programming costs and keeping the buildings heated. Jesus' teaching encourages us to give a portion of our resources back to God - not because God needs us, yet as an expression of gratitude and trust.
Ways to give: place gift in offering on Sundays, mail a check to the church office, or give online here.
We believe God gives everyone something to be shared with the community - you may know what it is (e.g. can you sing, are you good with budgets, do you enjoy reading publicly, do creative juices flow through you like rushing rapids...) or you may be trying to figure out your gifts. Whatever the case may be, we would love for you to share your gifts with the New Hope community. please contact our office to let us know how you want to share or to set an appointment with a pastor to discern your gifting and areas where you could serve.
