The United Methodist Church

The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Local churches and extension ministries of the Church provide the most significant arenas through which disciple-making occurs.
(¶120, The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church)

The United Methodist Church is a global church with over 12 million members in countries all over the world. Here in the US, the UMC is the second largest Protestant denomination.

Regionally, the UMC is organized into “Annual Conferences,” which are geographic regions bound together for the purpose of focusing on mission and ministry that are contextually relevant to the area, while participating in the mission and ministry of the global denomination. Annual Conferences are so called because they convene annually in a large meeting for worship and to outline the goals for the coming year.

New Hope is part of the New England Annual Conference.
