This program is usually on the second Friday of each month (5:30 to 8 p.m. at 550 West Main St., North Adams) from October through May for children ages five and above. It is a night out for parents, and a night in for children. The group gathers together for a meal, service-learning activity for the community or a national cause, and does crafts and other activities surrounding a Bible verse. For more information, or to register your child(ren) for the program, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org

“My 9-year-old son and my 6-year-old daughter have participated in the Ready, Set, Serve summer camp for two years, as well as in Friday Night Alive during the school year last year. They have loved all of it, without exception, and I am so happy that they have found a community like this to be a part of, where they can learn and grow in their faith with other children, of various ages, on a regular basis.
Every month, and in the summer, they learn in a concrete way what it means to be the hands of Christ, that we show (and grow in) our faith in how we care for our neighbors and our community and our planet. They are beginning to understand the meaning of social justice (yay for social justice journals!) and what that means in a Christian context. Best of all, perhaps, they have fun, they have made friends, and they carry what they have learned with them — I know, because it comes up in conversation regularly.
I am so grateful to New Hope for the experiences they have given to Aodhan and Ella, and for the time and care and love that they put into the Ready, Set, Serve and Friday Night Alive programs. Both of them are looking forward to another year of Friday Night Alive!”

New Hope is hosting a Service Learning Camp, titled “Ready, Set, Serve.”
We have designed this week-long day camp to help children understand how serving others is an important way of showing how they can love both God and neighbor. Through story, art, games, and gardening we will explore the social justice concerns of environmental care and community hunger, while learning how to prepare to serve, how to organize a service project, and why we serve.
This year’s theme of Project SPARK will ignite us and inspire us to see others and serve them with kindness.
If you have further questions or would like to register your child(ren) for this camp, please contact Ashley Rice (email@example.com) or 413.458.3183.
